National Intern Day falls on the last Thursday in July, July 29 in 2027. Companies use it to thank summer interns, and many give a kit that interns wear and use on campus, which keeps the company name in front of future applicants.
Gift ideas by budget
| Budget per person | Ideas |
|---|---|
| Under $25 | T-shirt, insulated tumbler, stickers and a notebook |
| $25 to $50 | Hoodie or crewneck, backpack sling, laptop sleeve |

Items students use on campus
Hoodies, backpacks and laptop sleeves go back to school with interns, where classmates see them. That is free recruiting reach.
Welcome kit or Intern Day gift
Some companies give a kit on the first day and a better item on Intern Day. If you only do one, a first day kit helps interns feel part of the team from the start.
Several offices
Interns are often spread across offices. Pack by office with names, or ship to housing addresses.
