A company store is only a good idea when it removes work from central teams. Set up wrong, it becomes a second inbox. Set up right, it's the reason marketing stops fielding one-off apparel requests.
Curate, don't catalog
The temptation is to load the store with everything. Resist. Fifteen well-chosen items outperform a hundred; the store's value is the editorial hand, not the inventory count.
Set the budget rules once
- Per-user or per-department caps
- Approval workflows for anything above a threshold
- Automatic budget resets by quarter
- Real-time consumption reporting to the owner
